Forester
The “Why Now?” Opportunity
Project Overview
Located in the prolific North Caribou Greenstone Belt, host to Orla’s Musselwhite Mine (>5M oz Au historic production)
Forester is located down strike of Musselwhite mine in the same structural setting. Targeting Banded Iron Formation (BIF), hosted gold and shear zones; the same geological model responsible for the multi-million-ounce Musselwhite mine.
Historic drilling is shallow and limited, yet intercepted high-grade gold. There are 14 known gold occurrences grading up to 147 g/t on the property.
Geology
Located in the prolific North Caribou Greenstone Belt, host to Orla’s Musselwhite Mine (>5M oz Au historic production)
- Forester is located down strike of Musselwhite mine in the same structural setting.
- Targeting Banded Iron Formation (BIF), hosted gold and shear zones; the same geological model responsible for the multi-million-ounce Musselwhite mine.
- Historic drilling is shallow and limited, yet intercepted high-grade gold
- Recent compilation work has identified multiple priority targets that have never been tested with modern exploration methods
Exploration
Great drill results despite low exploration maturity
- Between 1984 and 1986, only 16 shallow holes were drilled on the eastern ‘Tex’ zone
- At the time of drilling, the holes drilled on the Tex zone were considered uneconomic, but are very economic in today’s market
- Drilling ended in high-grade mineralization for multiple holes on the Tex zone; Hole TN 86-2 returned over 60 gram metres with 2 others returning over 40 gram metres
Recently consolidated, larger land package
- Orla is aggressively exploring in the area since their acquisition of Musselwhite Mine
- Gold produced at Forester could be potentially fed through the Musselwhite Mine mill
Multiple gold occurrences on the property
- There are 14 known gold occurrences grading up to 147 g/t on the property
